The Takealot Group, South Africa’s leading online retail and delivery organisation, is offering an exciting Marketplace Sales Internship in Cape Town. This 12-month programme provides exposure across all businesses within the Group, including takealot.com, TFS, and Mr D. It is designed for ambitious, creative, and hardworking individuals eager to gain practical experience in a fast-paced e-commerce environment. Interns will work alongside industry leaders, supporting sellers, improving product listings, and contributing to promotional activities, while developing both technical and soft skills. Responsibilities

• Support sellers with basic account management and operational queries
• Assist sellers with understanding platform tools, processes, and best practices
• Monitor seller performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
• Help improve product listings, catalogue quality, and stock availability
• Support promotional activities by coordinating submissions and tracking outcomes
• Assist in preparing seller performance reports, trackers, and dashboards
• Escalate operational or technical issues to relevant internal teams
• Participate in seller training sessions, webinars, and enablement initiatives
• Maintain accurate records of seller interactions and actions taken

Qualifications

• N6 in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
• Computer literacy
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong understanding of business principles, sales, and marketing concepts
• Competitor and market analysis skills
• Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
